Hey guys! Excited to start a new monthly guide focused on the personal beauty routines and inspirations of some of our favorite people. Honored to have our inaugural article feature musician, producer, singer, songwriter, and all around artist, Xhosa! Her music is warm, honest, and free, and her vibe is otherworldly. Be sure to check out her latest video for Feel Real!

Attitude Towards Beauty: I think feeling beautiful is extremely important. My self confidence has only grown by learning that I was beautiful despite society’s beauty standards. There is also that Ru Paul quote that sums up my feelings toward beauty, “When you become the image of your own imagination, it’s the most powerful thing you could ever do.”
Biggest Beauty Inspirations: Well, Ru Paul is definitely on that list lol. A lot of my friends inspire me with their creative make up. Raisa Thomas, Nicky Ottav, Alees Yvon, and Dal Eris just to name a few.

Go-to Look for a Night Out: My personal go to look that never fails me is a brown and gold color palette with dramatic eyes. I start out by putting a gold shadow on my eyelid and in the inner corner of my eye. Then I put a dark brown shadow on the outer corners on my eyes. I take a dark brown pencil and draw under my eyelids and extend the pencil out to do a lower lid wing. (this is something I do in all my make up looks), then smudge out the wing to create a sense of depth around my eyes. For my lips, I use a dark brown lip liner and a light shimmery gold lip gloss. This look is ultimately versatile, easy, natural looking and sexy.
Your Must-Have Products:
My must haves are AMC’s Pure Pigment eye shadow, L’oréal True Match Super Blendable Powder, & Makeover Essentials’ Coconut Oil Infused Lip Glass (unavailable online, try Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment). I don’t have much experience buying beauty products so I still have a lot to learn about them, but these things have done me justice. Above all else, the ultimate must-have is your inner glow and essence.
